What is the difference between PETG and PET?

PET: polyethylene terephthalate (alcohol) ester English: Poly (ethylene terephthalate)

PETG: Cyclohexanediol (copolyester) English: Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETG)

The biggest feature of PETG compared with PET is that PETG conforms to the environmental protection and food FDA certification concepts. PETG is currently receiving more and more attention from related products at home and abroad. So far, only two companies in the world, Eastman and SK in South Korea, have mature technologies. The main domestic agents of Eastman PETG and South Korea SK PETG are Shanghai Lianmo Chemical Co., Ltd. PET polyethylene terephthalate polycondensate is mainly used in food packaging films and textile fibers and other uses. Now, its usage as packaging material is increasing, not only for soda drink bottles, but also for non-crystalline PET (APET), crystalline PET (CPET) cans and dishes. In the past five years, engineering grade PET and copolyester, as new polymer products, have been used in engineering and special packaging materials, respectively.
