There are various numbers and environmental protection signs on the bottom of each type of plastic cup in each style on the market. What do these numbers mean? Below Dongguan Hongya Plastics will give you answers:
"01" is best lost after drinking Heat 70 °C
"01" stands for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and is most commonly used in the production of bottled beverages such as mineral water and carbonated beverages. Beverage bottles made of this material cannot be filled with hot water, and are only suitable for warm drinks or frozen drinks. They are easily deformed by high-temperature liquid or heated to dissolve substances harmful to the human body.
"02" is not recommended as a water heater. Heat resistance 110°C
"02" stands for HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), and plastic containers filled with cleaning products, bath products, or plastic bags commonly used in shopping malls are mostly made of this material. Can withstand 110 °C high temperature, if made into a cup and marked for food can be used to hold food.
"03" can not be heated Heat 81 °C
“03” stands for PVC (polyvinyl chloride), which is commonly found in raincoats and plastic films. Plastic products made from this material are prone to produce two kinds of toxic and harmful substances: one is the monomolecular vinyl chloride that is not completely polymerized in the production process, and the second is the harmful substances in the plasticizer.
These two substances are easily precipitated when they are exposed to high temperatures and fats. If they accidentally enter the human body, they are likely to cause cancer. Therefore, it is rarely used for the production of cups. If you choose a plastic cup of this material, do not allow it to heat.
Hot melt phenomenon occurs when "04" exceeds 110°C. Heat resistance 110°C
"04" is LDPE (low density polyethylene), raw materials for cling film and plastic film, and its heat resistance is not strong. Qualified PE cling film will melt when the temperature exceeds 110°C, leaving some plastic preparations that cannot be decomposed by the human body. If the food is wrapped outside the food and heated at the same time, the oil in the food can easily dissolve the harmful substances in the cling film.
“05” can be reused after careful cleaning. Heat resistance 130°C
"05" stands for PP (Polypropylene), which is the only material that can be heated in a microwave oven, and is therefore used as a raw material for making microwave lunch boxes. Resistant to high temperatures of 130°C, melting point up to 167°C, poor transparency, reusable after careful cleaning.
It should be noted that some microwave oven plastic cups are made of PP No. 05, but the cup cover is made of No. 06 PS. The PS has good transparency and is not resistant to high temperatures, so it cannot be put into the microwave oven together with the cup. Don't forget to remove the lid before heating the cup later
"06" Do not directly heat the bowl of instant noodle boxes Heat 100°C
"06" is PS (polystyrene) and is used to make bowl-type instant noodle boxes, instant noodle boxes and disposable cups. Can not be used to hold strong acid (such as orange juice), strong alkaline material, because it will break down the body of polystyrene (carcinogenic). Although it is heat-resistant and cold-resistant, it can also release chemicals due to high temperatures. Therefore, it is strongly recommended not to heat the instant noodles in a microwave oven.
"07" is carefully used to avoid "bisphenol A" Heat resistance: 120°C
"07" stands for PCs and other PCs. It is a material that is used in large quantities. It is used to make baby bottles, space cups, etc. It is controversial because it contains toxic bisphenol A. In theory, as long as bisphenol A is 100% converted into a plastic structure during the production of PC, it means that the product is completely free of bisphenol A, let alone released. However, there is no plastic cup manufacturer to ensure that the bisphenol A has been completely converted, and therefore there is a need to pay attention in the use of the process: do not heat when used, do not direct sunlight; do not dishwasher, dryer washing kettle; first time Before use, wash with baking soda powder and warm water. Dry naturally at room temperature. If there is any drop or damage to the container, stop using it immediately. Also, avoid using plastic cups that are already aging.
After learning about the characteristics and precautions of the seven plastic cups, Hongya also reminded everyone that the PC material can easily decompose the toxic substance, bisphenol A, and avoid the PC material children's cups. The PP or PES plastic cups can be used. It is boiled and sterilized at 100°C. The heat-resisting temperature can reach up to 130°C in a PP cup, and the PES cup can reach 180°C. After careful cleaning, it can be reused.
